Right, so I'm bored, avoiding doing my Algebra homework, and in a very random mood, so I present you with my new LJ (this one shall be deleted in a week, or whenever I get around to doing so):

ETA: Wait, SO not deleting this journal. I may hate the username, but I've got so much shit on here I'd be insane to delete it all. So whatever.
ETA on 1/17/05: I'm making all the entries aside from this one private.

I figured it was time for another spontaneous, random entry, so here you go.
1: WEDNESDAY IS LOST DAY. I actually forgot on Sunday, as I was planning on ordering one of the Lost t-shirts from the website, but then I was all, OMG WAIT LOST DAY IN THREE DAYS HOLY SHIT, so I screwed that plan, for now, anyway. I'll probably order it anyway, but whatever.
2: iPod Nano!!! Trés hot. Really. I hated it at first, but it's grown on me like a disease on someone with no immune system. Seriously, it's gorgeous, and I got to touch it on Saturday. Sooo pretty. Shame they've stopped selling the Minis, now that the Nano's out. (But whatever. Though I still think the name 'iPod Nano' is incredibly stupid.)
3: I went shopping with my mom on Saturday, and we went to Nordstrom's Rack, as I needed a new pair of boots (well, actually, I currently have no boots, so I just need boots in general. And I don't actually need them, I just really want a pair, as I <3 boots.), and go figure, just as I go off-track and see the world's greatest skirt, the store closes, and I don't even get to try it on. But on the subject of boots, I've found two pairs I really love, and both are MEGA-EXPENSIVE. REALLY. The first pair, which I fell in love with and am still drooling over, cost like $210, and the other pair was amazingly cool but cost over $300. So depressing.
4: LOST DAY IN TWO DAYS. DON'T FORGET. Alex's crack is coming back! I'm a poet and I didn't even know it! I like kitties and they're so pretty...ies. They're so pretties. Yeah, sure. Crap, I forgot to rhyme that. Whatever.
5: Alex=needs to go take a shower, even though it's 11 PM, as Alex knows she won't be able to do so in the morning at 6:30 AM. Chao!

Hellooo, flist.
I need a favor.
As most of you know (or, alternatively, all of you, hell if I know), my absolutely wonderful laptop died last month. Again. This time, however, the hard drive is really, definitely dead (seriously. I know I made the 'it crashed' announcement like a month ago, but I brought it into the store for the third time on Sunday, and they confirmed that it was REALLY, REALLY dead), so I've lost almost everything. I backed up some of my music two months ago, and I managed to quickly back up all of my documents, pictures (so all my graphics are safe. Okay, no, they aren't, I kept an archive of everything I made in PS in a zipped folder in another folder, which I didn't back up, so I only have my recent stuff, but whatever, because I don't really give a damn if anyone wants to steal my shitty old stuff) and saved movies, along with a few other things, before the computer was completely lost, so yay for that, I suppose.
However, I lost all of my other music.
I can get my applications back and whatnot, as I either had them on CD or got them off the internet for free, but as for my music- well, I'd rather not go and spend a ton of money- that I don't have- on that. Besides, all I really want back is my playlist. So, in middle-of-post-conclusion, help me and, if you have any of the following, upload it to YSI and post the link here. Please. :D
Er, no, before you ask, I can't give you anything in return, as, well, I don't actually have anything I could give you- all my computer-y stuff went bang then poof (in other words, it crashed, then died.). ...And the stuff I got back is shitty, really. Do you have any idea how much my musical taste sucked, two months ago? So, uh, just give Xandra music for free and, um, she'll... be nice to you? ...Or I could give you a Gmail invite, but I think everyone that wants one has one, so whatever.
( Anyway, here's your after-the-intro LJ cut, so no one angsts madly because they had to scroll through more stuff. Included under cut is playlist in question. )
Again, thanks if you can help.

If you didn't know why I suddenly disappeared for two weeks, well, here it is. (And no, I'm not dead.)
'Twas off in Neverland- also known as Eaglearts summer art camp. And while I did find out a tad bit too late (sorry a thousand times, Lillie, and all of the players in the Otherworld RP) that I wouldn't be able to use the internet, I did have fun. For the most part, anyway- I didn't really like my afternoon class, as I was the only person there in the first week, and learned everything on the first day and just sat around being bored out of my skull for the rest of the week- the second week was better, as a few people joined the class, but I still didn't really know what I wanted to do, projects-wise, anyhow.
Well, I'm back.
Any news? (Anything, honestly, no TVs, either- I loved the camp and didn't really have time to care about not being able to use the internet or TVs, but I'd have liked to at least know what the hell was going on in the world.)

'Kay, I've cleaned out my friends list slightly. If you haven't updated in a gazillion years (unless you're Tasha/Sugarini, because I shan't remove you, because I'm clinging to the hope that you'll come back to internet life someday), or if that LJ is an old one of yours and you've changed it, I've probably removed you.
ETA: Right, so I also removed a few of you who are fairly active. Reason why? I feel we either don't have enough in common, I rarely speak to you, or, well, I don't really know you at all.

HELP
Jul. 1st, 2005 | 09:08 pm
AIM Express has decided that it hates my guts, even though I've never even used it before and even though I'm being nice to the Mac-hating crap and using Windows XP and IE. I open it up, log in, then can't use it because it says the pop-up blocker is enabled.
I turn of the pop-up blocker, and it still won't work, so I turn the blocker back on and add aimexpress.aim.com to the safe list and then I go back to AIM Express and hey, guess what? IT STILL WON'T WORK.
So then I remember what I had to do to get Neopets to work, so I go to Norton Internet Security and go to Ad Blocking>Configure>Advanced and do what I did before and oh, amazing! IT STILL WON'T WORK AND I AM ABOUT TO PULL MY HAIR OUT SO HELP ME NOW BEFORE I SMITE YOU ALL.
Edit: I GOT IT TO WORK. NORTON INTERNET SECURITY HAD AD AND POP UP BLOCKING ENABLED, SO I TOOK THAT OUT AND BAM IT WORKS BUT I HAVE TO USE THE OLD, JAVA VERSION BUT IT WORKS AND I HAVE AIM.
Wait, how do I get into a chat?

Update on the dead hard drive problem.

Apparently, it's not dead, nor is the HD gone. We still have no idea what the hell is going on, as it still won't finish starting up, but we ran DiskWarrior on it last night, and I was able to back up most of my home folder afterwards (I still need to back up the music, but at least I've got my stories/essays and graphics back. Which reminds me. I need to install PS on the iMac.).
Right now, I'm waiting for my mom to come home for work, as the HD's being a bitch again, and won't show up when I connect it to the iMac with a Firewire cable. Bleh.

Not sure. Shocked, numb...
Right, so this was a bunch of jumbled gibberish, and I can't really type nicely and mistake-free right now, I'm mis-spelling every word I type, so I'll just give you the barest details.
We got an iMac today, one of the G5s. I like it.
We also got me an iPod Mini today. It's pink.
However, the little music it has on it is from our backup hard drive (used, obviously, for just storing stuff, backing up our computers, etc.). This is because my laptop is dead.
Not only is it dead, but about an hour ago, I found out the stupid fucking thing deleted its own hard drive. Yes, really. I certainly didn't delete it. Obviously, I am really fucking upset right now. I am so upset that it's quite hard to use correct grammar or such. and that I have to keep correcting this.
And no, for your information, I am not about to switch to Windows. I've always hated my laptop. It's been a bitch since I got it. All other iBooks I've used were quite different. So no, I'm not about to praise Bill Gates just because I got the short stick.
And someone tell me how to turn the brightness of the iMac screen down. Please. It's on the lowest, the one where, one every other computer, usually makes the screen black. Currently, it is not black, it is still really freaking bright. It is nothing compared to the brightest screen setting. That is enough to blind you.

It's really quite frustrating to have writer's block. Especially when one is myself, and one has been having the dreaded Block for about a year now. Even more so when the Block disintegrates into an infinite number of small pieces for about an hour at a time, every few months, and one actually writes something that can't be used as a metaphor for a trainwreck made of broken glass and animal feces.
But the truly irritating thing about it is when one has had a plotbunny hopping around the universe of one's brain for the entirety of said year, and has finally started refining said bunny of plot into something workable and/or believable (not to mention having the mostly OC main character- or background character, I don't know, I think it would be interesting to have her story told out in the background of various short stories. We've been told a bit about her in Dragon, and I do suck at writing anything longer than two thousand words long (which is a tad bit longer than your average short story), so...), when one realizes that the plotbunny won't work at all, as the entire plot is just bits and pieces that contradict each other and wouldn't work as a story at all, because of the Block, so one becomes very frustrated.
I think this situation calls for a new made-up Alex Word of Frustration, and then to make this a truly thrilling story, this will have a happy ending.
New word is erck.
Erck, this sucks.
And now, for the fairytale ending, which may or may not include a comma eloping with a semi-colon to get away from said comma's evil stepfather, Lord Chatspeak:
I've finally found and joined an interesting RP (even if some of the most active people in it aren't what I'd call good writers, even if good is subjective and all that), and made a character that I actually have ideas for, aside from "Hi, let's go run down to the river and stop the evil sand demons from converting the poor, stupid rocks to their sandy cause."; for the first time in ages, I can actually run with a plot and just think up what happens next without stopping short as I run into a wall of needles and then abandoning the RP a month later. So hurrah for this achievement, I suppose.
And as a grand finale, I'll jump through seven spiked, flaming hoops, and then proceed to prove that the letter A is really B.
(Loking back on what I just wrote, I now realize that I really need to get to sleep, as it's quite obvious I'm sleep-deprived. I made about seventy typos in this while typing, it, too. Sleep is needed. Ciao, dahlinks.)
(And yay for multiple run-on sentences.)

Even with all the changes, deletions and shortning of the film, I do think GoF is going to be good. Especially when Emma Watson said this during the previews last night:
Emma: This year, for Hermione, she's just, more than anything else, on edge for so much of the film.
Finally, some Hermione being Hermione.
Even if herdressrobes dress is pink. It's really blue. Blueblueblue. Just an, um, optical illusion in the trailer. Mmm-hmm.
